SAFETY SOARING TO NEW HEIGHTS

Construction Safety Week may be over, but our commitment to preventing job site accidents is flying to new heights!

Laborers at JFK Terminal 1 wrapped up Construction Safety Week 2024 with a job site visit hosted by AECOM Tishman and the NYS Trifunds. Over 150 LIUNA members heard from representatives of Locals 731, 20, 18a, 6a, Laborers Local 79, Laborers Local 1010, and 1298, along with the New York State Laborers' Organizing Fund, on the importance of safety and quality training, and received PPE from the New York State Laborers Health and Safety Fund!

Representatives from OSHA provided valuable insights into the significance of working safely, particularly highlighting the prevalence of falls on sites like this one. Members also had the opportunity to explore cutting-edge tools from Hilti Tools and learn how to use them safely.
